WARM APPLE GROVE
- 5 parts cloudy apple juice (we used juice from Rscued)
- 1 part hazelnut orgeat*
- Rosemary
- Cardamom
- Lemon
- (Shot of Dry Gin)
Heat apple juice and orgeat together with a generous sprig of rosemary and a tablespoon of cardamom. Strain and discard the rosemary and cardamom. When serving, pour the mix over a thin slice of lemon. (Add a small shot of Dry Gin when serving for additional warmth on a cold day)
*HAZELNUT ORGEAT
- One part water
- One part sugar
- One part hazelnuts.
While heating water and sugar gently, roughly chop the hazelnuts and lightly toast in a pan. Add the hazelnuts to the simple syrup and simmer for a couple of minutes. Set aside to cool overnight. After at least eight hours, ideally longer, strain the simple syrup through a cheesecloth and discard the nuts.
